With the festive period traditionally associated with friends and family reuniting in merry cheer, Burberry Chief Creative Officer, Riccardo Tisci, thought it was only appropriate that his first holiday campaign for Burberry celebrated that feeling of togetherness.

Assembling a starry cast of vibrant personalities, including Abdi Omar who is the first hijabi model to star in a Burberry festive campaign, a notion of union, hope and love have been magically captured by photography duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.

“The shoot was magical – I had so much fun,” said Abdi Omar. “The team were outstanding and I have always respected Riccardo and his work ethic and dedication. He was so professional and calm. It was my dream to work with Burberry – it was an honour to be a part of it.”

The campaign centres around a film of the cast – also featuring Carla Bruni and Fran Summers – dancing to the soundtrack of ‘What Is Love?’ by Deee-Lite while wearing some of the key pieces from the British fashion house.

“It’s one of my favourite times of the year – when I can stop, reflect and reconnect with those who make me feel happy and at home, no matter where I am in the world,” explains Tisci. “I loved the idea of bringing together a group of people that have been so supportive of me since I joined Burberry to celebrate my first holiday campaign for the house.”
