Ras Al Khaimah is encouraging everyone to spend quality time with their four-legged friends.

The emirate has launched a new programme called Ras Al-K9 which encompasses a series of experiences for you to share with your pup.

Ras Al-K9 is set to run across 25 different hotels, parks, beaches and restaurants for owners to spend quality time with their dogs.

“Ras Al Khaimah’s natural topography alongside its spirit of genuine hospitality appeals to both travellers and their four-legged friends,” Raki Phillips, chief executive of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, said of the new initiative. “We understand how hard it can be to leave a beloved pet at home while on holiday so we made it as easy as possible for guests to bring their pawsome family members with them.”

He continued: “Ras Al-K9 is a community initiative, tapping into the emirate’s affinity for dogs and providing hassle free options to explore, engage and stay in Ras Al Khaimah. Teaming up with Ras Al Khaimah Animal Welfare Centre, hotel partners and others committed to animal welfare, we aim to create an inclusive and supportive community for both visitors and their canine companions.”

Under the initiative, there will be many events dedicated to pets in RAK including a Fine Arts Festival from February 18 to February 20 which will include pet yoga, workshops and pet adoption.

The week after there will also be a ‘Paws on the Beach’ event on February 26 and February 27. The event will aim to raise awareness about the wellbeing of animals.

Dogs are also now allowed at two of RAK’s main beaches, Al Jazeera or Flamingo, and on popular hiking trails Wadi Shah and Wadi Shawka.

There’s also a pet-friendly staycation package available at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah or visit a pet-friendly restaurant Marina Muse, Tucano Coffee, Bread & Barrel and more.

RAK truly has become the most pet-friendly emirate in the UAE.
