With every Ramadan season, comes the Arab world’s most highly-anticipated TV dramas. With everything slowing down, the Holy Month has become a time for people to gather around their television screens and indulge in some quality content. This year, four of the series, starring the biggest names in the film and television industry, will be streamed on Netflix. This means, you will be able to enjoy your favourite show ad-free with some shows’ episodes arriving day and date concurrently with regional television networks.

I Have A Script – Souad Abdullah

The series will be streamed exclusively on Netflix from 6 May at the same time as it will appear on TV networks. Starring Kuwaiti TV veteran Souad Abdullah and Shejoun Al-Hajri, the social comedy revolves around a woman that decides to pursue her passion for writing by penning television scripts following the death of a loved one.

Syrian actor Basel Khayat, plays the role of a best-selling crime novelist who becomes the prime suspect when his real life begins to imitate the plot of his books. Appearing alongside him is Lebanese actress Daniella Rahme, the two starred together last Ramadan in hit-series Tango.

The events of In the Bosom of a Thorn are set during the Gulf War. After the invasion of Kuwait, a woman’s infant daughter is taken from her. Now, years later, her daughter looks to make her way back home. This Kuwaiti drama is directed by Hamad Al Badri, and is produced by Kunooz Al Khaleej. Starring in the series are: Elham Fadala, Ibrahim Al Harbi, Laila Abdullah, Khaled Al Buraiki and Abeer Ahmed.
