It feels like the most wonderful time of the year in Dubai – the weather is lovely and there is so much to do! The Dubai International Film Festival opened last night, so the city is buzzing with local and international stars. GETTING A DESIGNER BARGAIN AT THE NYLA HOUSE/SO CHIC POP-UP
The lovely ladies of Nyla House on Al Wasl Road, Jumeirah are hosting the So Chic Pop-Up shop this Thursday and Friday (December 11 and December 12). You can expect to find pre-loved and new designer goods including clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and jewelry from Paris. Benefit cosmetics will also be there with their latest products and vouchers. TAKING ACTION AT THE LANDMARK GROUP BEAT DIABETES WALKATHON 2014
In its sixth year the Landmark Group Beat Diabetes Walkathon, with the help of the UAE community, aims to raise awareness about seriousness of the worldwide diabetes epidemic. The rates of diabetes are especially high in the MENA region with 1 in 10 being diagnosed with the condition, and several GCC countries including the UAE are in the world’s top 15 of diabetes prevalence. The walk will take place at Zabeel Park Area A at Gate 3 at 7am tomorrow (December 12). There will be loads of entertainment for kids and adults alike and healthy food, so why not make a day of it? HEADING TO THE FIRST ALSERKAL AVENUE URBAN MARKET
This Saturday (December 13) Alserkal Avenue, the hub for creative arts in the industrial Al Quoz area, will be hosting their first ever Urban Market. Off the success of their recent Al Quoz Festival, Alserkal Avenue will be hosting a day of art, culture, music and food. Expect to see the delicious Good Vibes food market, Freshlyground Sounds, a Fashset designer pop-up store, film screenings, gallery tours, affordable art and live music.
