This week Team EW has outdone itself. We’ve sent two incredible issues to print – our bumper September Fashion issue as well as our autumn/winter issue of Emirates Bride. We’re certainly looking forward to this weekend, and we plan on letting our hair down and have some well-earned fun…
GRABBING SOME POPCORN AND WATCHING WHAT IF
Our favourite boy-wizard actor, Daniel Radcliffe, plays a despondent young man who drops out of med school after his classmate and girlfriend has an affair with their anatomy lecturer. Still moping a year later he meets Chantry, played by Zoe Kazan, and they discover their mutual love for offbeat interests such as Elvis’ bizarre eating habits. The only problem is, Chantry is with Ben, her long term, live-in boyfriend. They opt to remain friends, but how long can they deny the attraction? We love the idea of this millennial take on the rom-com, plus it co-stars Adam Driver, the weirdo-cool actor from Lena Dunham’s Girls. The film opens today in all good cinemas.
CATCHING SIGMA LIVE AT WAREHOUSE DUBAI
British Drum ‘n Bass duo, Sigma, are having a very good year. Having met at Leeds University back in 2006, neither Cameron Edwards nor Joe Lenzie could have predicted that their 2014 free to download track Nobody To Love (a rework Kanye’s ‘Bound 2’) would hit the number one spot on the UK charts. Luckily for us, they’ll be performing right here at Level 41 in Media One Hotel tonight. They’re also bringing a few equally talented friends to make sure you’re entertained all night long – Birmingham-based beauty DJ Hannah Wants and Dubai favourites the UK R&B/Garage band Artful Dodger. HAVING A LADIES DAY AT BEACH FESTIVAL
Sometimes going to the beach can be a bit of a bore, but this weekend the Dubai’s Ladies Club is launching their Beach Festival. Every Friday and Saturday for the next five weeks they will be offering a host of activities catering to all tastes all along their pristine shoreline. Expect fitness activities, games, live entertainment, beauty treatments, a barbeque and food kiosks and specially designated areas for the kids including an inflatable waterpark.
