DANCING AT BLENDED
She’s cool, she’s talented, and she looks great in monochrome. South London singer Jessie Ware will kick off the Blended festival at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre tonight, and we intend to be front and centre. Brit rockers Kasabian are also on the line-up, as well as old school garage favourite Craig David. Who knows, a live rendition of Rewind might make it easier to cope with our imminent bout of Glastonbury FOMO. Maybe. Robin Thicke, Kool & the Gang and Nico & Vinz will play on Friday night. CELEBRATING THREE YEARS OF BLUE MARLIN IBIZA UAE
Time to grab our beach bag and our biggest sunnies: Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE is throwing a party to celebrate its third birthday, and obvs we’re on the list. Street Nights is back, and in a brand new location, this time at the Bahar section of The Walk on JBR. There’ll be street art, live music and entertainment, and most importantly, street food. Entry is free. Until Saturday May 9, from 5pm to 10pm.
SENDING BIRTHDAY WISHES TO A SPECIAL SOMEONE
This May 2nd will be a momentous day in the world of sport. No, not the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight (who cares?), but the 40th birthday of one Mr David Beckham. So make that a momentous day in the worlds of fashion, philanthropy, and all-round beautiful people too. HEADING TO QUEEN BEE AT TR!BECA
It’s brand new, but the Queen Bee ladies’ night at Tr!beca, the New York-inspired restaurant at the JA Ocean View Hotel, is already drawing a crowd. The new venue is offering four free glasses of organic grape or soft drinks after 8pm. If you’re in the mood for a sundowner straight after work, drinks are 50 per cent off between 5pm and 8pm too.
