Yesterday, Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan celebrated her 50th birthday and as always, the royal managed to exude familiar elegance and charm in her latest portrait.

The royal marked this milestone by wearing a Taupe long bell-shaped sleeved dress with draping from Lebanese/Mexican brand Darin Hachem. The chic piece is from the autumn/winter 2019 collection and perfectly complimented her modern style and regal status.

Co-founded by Lebanese designer Darin Hachem alongside Fernanda Gallardo from Mexico, the sustainable brand focuses on sourcing fabrics from around the world that are natural or recyclable to create clothes that are contemporary and extremely wearable, while also paying tribute to the Middle East.

“The colours we pick are very close to the Middle Eastern ‘paysage’, these sandy tones, browns, greens found even in our wooden arts and furniture. They are all tones and shades of earthy colours,” Hachem previously told EW.

Her Majesty opened up about celebrating her birthday amidst the pandemic in an interview with Hello! magazine. Queen Rania gave thanks to her country in their efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, putting the people of Jordan’s “health and wellbeing first”.

Despite her gratitude of being able to spend time with her family – her husband King Abdullah and their four children, the Crown Prince Hussein, 26, Princess Iman, 23, Princess Salma, 19 and 15-year-old Prince Hashem – Queen Rania also admitted she was “heartbroken to see the pain and loss the virus has inflicted on so many around the world”.
