Supporting local talent

Queen Rania is not only an influential figure in the region, but also a style icon. The Jordanian royal is known for her elegant looks, and is often spotted wearing designer brands. However, she also uses her platform to shed light on up-and-coming regional talent, and her trip to Egypt was a perfect opportunity.

Last Thursday, the Queen accompanied King Abdullah II on a one day working visit to Egypt. Upon arrival, the royals were welcomed at the airport with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his wife First Lady Mrs Entissar Amer El Sisi. During the visit, the state leaders discussed relations between the two Arab states. Meanwhile, the Queen and the First Lady engaged in private discussion and a tour of the Presidential Palace.

The mother-of-four decided to honour the North African state during her trip by championing a local brand. As usual, Queen Rania stood out in a royal red belted dress by Andrew Gn. She completed the look with blue Dior mesh heels and a limited edition silver western bag from Egyptian brand Omni’s.

Queen Rania’s red ensemble was a strong contrast to Entissar Amer’s powder blue look. The Egyptian First Lady opted for a matching-set, combining a long lace buttoned blouse and loose pants. Like the Jordanian royal, she also opted for a hand-bag by an Egyptian label, wearing an OKHTEIN purse.

Prior to her visit to Egypt, the royal visited Amman Design Week’s Ras El Ain Hangar exhibition. She viewed the displays and installations created by participating designers, and also stopped by the student exhibition, showing her support for young talent. While at the event, Queen Rania was a vision in white, wearing Brunello Cucinelli blouse, a Loewe skirt, Malone Souliers pumps and a Scotria leather satchel bag.
