Qatar has officially reopened its borders to travellers who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

For those who have been vaccinated by Qatar’s Ministry of Health’s five approved vaccines – Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Sinopharm – there will be no need for quarantine upon arrival.

In addition, all visitors – vaccinated or non-vaccinated – will be required to undertake a PCR test up to 72 hours prior to travel.

For those who have had the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Oxford-AstraZeneca, which all require two shots, and Johnson & Johnson, which requires one shot, 14 days must have passed since the completion of their vaccines.

Meanwhile, for Sinopharm, which is an inactivated vaccine and requires two shots, 14 days must have passed since the completion of the vaccination program, travellers with this vaccine will need to pre-book a quarantined hotel if they are coming from a yellow or red list country. Upon arrival they will be subject to an antibody test on arrival in the hotel; if the antibody test result is positive with antibodies, they will be discharged on day 1 (if coming from yellow), or once the on-hotel-arrival PCR test result is negative for travellers coming from red list country.

In order to visit Qatar – international visitors, citizens and residents – must register and upload required documentation such as a vaccination certificate, valid PCR test up to 72 hours prior to travel, and personal details through the ‘Ehteraz’ website (www.ehteraz.gov.qa). This needs to be done at least 12 hours before your planned departure to Qatar.
