Saudi Arabia’s fashion scene has officially touched down in one of the fashion capitals of the world – New York City.

Known as the Saudi 100 Brands exhibition, it’s set to showcase the work of 100 designers hailing from the Kingdom reflecting the country’s heritage and culture.

On Tuesday, July 26, the exhibition was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, the current Saudi Ambassador to the USA, where she gave a speech praising the work of the designers on display.

“I will tell you that the collections that you see here are inspired by Arabia, but they are made for the world,” she said, per Arab News.” That is the magic that the Saudi Fashion Commission has brought by bringing the collections to New York, the heart of the fashion world.”

The exhibition, showcasing a variety of designers’ work in demi-couture, bags, jewellery, bridal wear and more, is a moment for the world to come together through creativity and culture, Her Royal Highness added.

“Creativity is not born in one country,” she said. “Culture is not defined by a border. And what you’re about to see is a symbol that has nothing to do with politics, that has nothing to do with governments, but has everything to do with the human spirit.”

The exhibition, powered by the Saudi Fashion Commission and the Ministry of Culture, is located at the Iron23, based in the heart of the Flatiron District, and is set to run until August 7, 2022.
