The current owner of the dress picked it up for the bargain price of £200 (AED 940) in 1994. According to The Independent, the woman who worked in the charity shop didn’t realise the previous owner when she initially bought the designer dress.
The gown had been dropped off by a housekeeper, and the new owner did not realise the true value of the gown until she saw an image of Princess Diana wearing the gown on a documentary of her visit to the Middle East.
It is believed the gown could now reach between £60,000 and £100,000 (AED280,000 – AED470,000) when auctioned in London, UK by Kerry Taylor Auctions on December 10.
