Four-day trip confirmed

Prince William is planning to visit the region next month at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Details of the tour are yet to be confirmed, but the royal will be travelling to Kuwait and Oman between December 1 – December 4. Kensington Palace made the announcement of their official visit yesterday.

The Duke of Cambridge was in the region in June 2018 where he spent time with Prince Hussein bin Abdullah. Kate Middleton was unable to join her husband on that trip as she was on maternity leave with their newest addition to the family, Prince Louis.

The British royal family has a strong relationship with the region. Prince Charles previously visiting Kuwait and Oman with his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in 2016. Queen Elizabeth II has been to Oman on two occasions; in 2010 where she spent time with the Queen and Sultan Qaboos, and back in 1979.

The Queen has also hosted Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman for lunch at Buckingham Palace in 2018.

Only last month The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in Pakistan on their first official trip to the country. Their four-day tour saw them travel over 1,000 kilometres of the country and visiting many sites including Badshahi Mosque, the most iconic Islamic site in Lahore, set in the heart of the Walled City.
