To make COVID-19 test even more accessible in the city and encourage residents to get checked, several malls have introduced PCR testing stations.

Specifically aimed at those who are planning on travel or need a test for non-medical reasons, the pop-ups have been set up by Dubai Health Authority at Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif and City Centre Deira.

Priced at Dhs150, each of the locations is overseen by certified medical staff who can perform up to 180 tests a day with the results distributed within 24 hours – ideal for anyone who needs a quick turnaround.

According to The National, the centres strive to encourage more people to get a test for coronavirus and are part of UAE’s “early detection strategy that aims to identify, isolate and treat Covid-19 cases before the virus can spread.”

In order to avoid the spread of the virus, anyone displaying symptoms associated with COVID-19 such as high fever, a persistent cough and change to the sense of smell and taste, should avoid going to the malls for tests.

The centres are open 11am to 6pm daily and you can book an appointment by calling the toll-free number 800DHA (800342).
