It’s not often you get to take part in a Guinness World Record attempt let alone get some free grooming spoils in the process, so hot foot it down to the Star Atrium at The Dubai Mall this Friday between 2pm and 10pm and take advantage of both.
Beauty Connection Spa and hip French brand KOKO Nails are teaming up in an attempt to set a world record for the most nails filed and varnished in eight hours. One hundred trained manicurists will take on this impressive feat while dressed as Rosie The Riveter, an iconic symbol of feminism, to add a little girl power to the proceedings.
So just how many nails will they be able to varnish in eight hours? The last world record for the same task, held by nail guru Sally Hansen and Priceline in 2001, was 2,572 polished fingertips but, as is always the case in Dubai, Beauty Connection Spa are planning to outdo their competitors and are aiming for a whopping 50,000 mini manicures.
This purposeful pampering session is totally free but all participants are encouraged to make a donation to the Rashid Centre For The Disabled as a parting gesture. In order to qualify for the record, women will receive a file, base coat, two coats of a varnish colour of their choice and a topcoat while men will be given a quick file and a buff to shine. As if that wasn’t enough, every person who partakes in the event will walk away with a free commemorative KOKO Nails polish to mark the occasion.
