Brace yourself for some bargains

clearance sale

Rummaging through the racks can feel a little overwhelming, but it’s always worth it when you find a real steal. And with up to 80 per cent off brands including Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Versace, H&M, Topshop and Victoria’s Secret, you might find a gem at this year’s Big Clearance Sale. We reckon get there when doors open to avoid the crowds.

Za’beel Halls 1, 2 and 3, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai, Thursday to Saturday, 11am to 10.30pm, Dhs10 for entry. Tel: 600 55559. thebigclearance.com.

Try some fancy fish and chips

Pierchic

They’re calling it the world’s poshest fish and chips, and to be fair, Pierchic’s offering does sound pretty deluxe. Featuring prime turbot and triple-cooked fries, it’s a couple of steps above your typical greasy newsprint bundle (not that we’d ever talk down on that). Perfect for the end of the week.

Pierchic, Al Qasr, Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah, fish and chips available until September 2. Dhs270 a la carte, and also on brunch menu. Tel: (04) 432 3232. jumeirah.com

Friday 25

Get cash back for chowing down

bice

We like food, we like money – so we like everything about BiCE’s new weekend deal. The Italian restaurant is offering a Dhs250 food voucher back for every Dhs500 spent at their Friday brunch (so think of it like a half-price brunch, plus a pre-paid dinner in the bag). You can redeem the voucher on BiCE’s a la carte menu seven days a week, and up until September 20, so there’s no rush to use it right away.

BiCE Ristorante, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Fridays 12.30pm to 4pm. Dhs295 per person including soft drinks, Dhs395 including house beverages and Dhs430 per person including bubbly. Dhs135 for children aged 6 to 12. Cashback offer available from August 25 to September 20. Tel: (04) 318 2520. bicegroup.com.

Get minty fresh with a massage

Talise Ottoman Spa

On these sticky, humid days, the idea of a massage isn’t always that appealing. When it’s done with peppermint oil, though, we’re listening. At the Talise Ottoman Spa at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, you can have a 60-minute spa treatment, spa access, and Lebanese lunch at Al Nafoorah for Dhs560. There’s even a private pool and beach to get into – and you’ve got all day. Bliss.

Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Crescent Road, The Palm Jumeirah, Dhs560 for Arabian Essences package, available 9am to 9.30pm. Tel: (04) 453 0455. jumierah.com

Saturday 26

Blend a workout with brekkie

hapi urban yoga

A leisurely session of Saturday-morning stretching is one of our favourite weekend activities, and one new combo also brings our other top passion – eating – into the mix. Urban Yoga’s new Alserkal Avenue studio is offering a morning class, plus breakfast downstairs at HAPI cafe, for Dhs120 per person. You can choose from a healthy egg bowl or acai bowl, plus coffee or orange juice, which should help counteract everything we ate at Friday’s brunch.

Urban Yoga@ HAPI, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz, Dubai, Breakfast & Yoga package is available 8am to 12pm daily. Tel: (04) 369 7882. urbanyoga.ae.
