Including that mega-dirham Middle-East designed diamond bra…
Monday evening in Shanghai saw the filming of US lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret’s annual fashion show, which means a terrifyingly high concentration of beautiful models in one place at one time.
It also meant that the Champagne Nights fantasy bra, made in collaboration with Lebanese jewellers Mouawad and modelled by Lais Ribeiro, had its moment in the sun. At a valuation of Dhs7.35 million, it deserves it.
We thought we’d round up our favourite backstage pics from the night.
Here’s that bra and its model, under the watchful eye of two Mouawad guardians. Precious cargo indeed.

For the first time, the show featured a collaboration with French fashion label Balmain. (You know them, they’re Kardashian favourites.) Here, designer Olivier Rousteing cosies up with a crowd of angels back stage.
The collection itself? Think studs, leather and tartan.
A very classic day at the office for Adriana Lima, less so for the likes of us. Do you think VS veterans like her still get nervous?
If she was, Lima would have some moral support. This is the fashion equivalent of Ellen Degneres’s Oscars selfie of 2014. Jasmine Tookes, Martha Hunt, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Sara Sampaio, Romee Strijd, Candice Swanepoel, and Lais Ribeiro all joined Allesandra Ambrosio in this shot. We’re thinking more would have joined, but the frame is pretty full.
Speaking of Strijd, we had to laugh a little at this caption. We’re sure that a lie-flat bed makes those long-haul flights a tiny bit easier.
Taylor Hill shared this more casual shot. Those sweaters are very cute, too. We’ll take the bombshell one for Saturdays when they only human contact we have is with the Deliveroo guy.
Exactly what our work party selfies look like with our dearest co-workers. There’s literally no difference.
We couldn’t finish this off without a couple of classic makeup chair shots. Swipe through above – there’s backstage selfies to be seen.
It’s important to remember this show is pure entertainment. These women train like athletes and calibrate their diets so they look their absolute best on this one day of the year, because it’s their job. It’s not exactly realistic for anyone else.
But wow. Don’t they look amazing?
