What I love about living in the UAE is that no day or night is a dull one. From unique activities to new launches, there is always something to do, and in the name of journalism, of course, myself and the EW team enjoy trialing them all so that we can give you an accurate review… here’s some of my faves from the past week.
Roberto’s Aperitivo
A long summer spent in Italy, as a teen with my best friend, has seen me love the dolce vita ever since. The Italian way of life is one that suits my personality and aperitivo is my ideal way to end a day, making Roberto’s new Il Momento dell’ Aperitivo nights one of my new favourites. Throughout October, from Sunday to Thursday, 5pm to 8pm, Roberto’s is embracing the century-old tradition that is the classic Italian aperitvo. As the sun sets order one of the signature cocktails from the Aperol Spritz, Negroni to the Roberto’s Bellini and you will be treated to a complimentary plate of appealing appetizers to share, from mozzarella and bruschetta to mini pizzas. I will no doubt see you there. Bellissimo!
Iris Terrace
With the weather slowly starting to cool, roof top bars are reopening and an invite to the launch of Iris’ outdoor terrace revealed why it is dubbed the city’s ultimate rooftop destination.
Iris was certainly the perfect venue to impress visiting friends
Located at the top of the Oberoi hotel, the impressively chic venue offers some of the most stunning views of the emirate and hosts an incredibly gorgeous crowd. However, believe it or not, that’s not its unique selling point. Its extensive Mediterranean-inspired menu, and its creative specialty cocktails are. Add to that live music and you can understand why it always pulls in the crowds. Visit Iris Sunday to Thursday from 6pm-8pom and enjoy 50 per cent off all beverages.
Bubbalicious
Anyone who has done brunch in Dubai will most certainly have heard of and/or experienced Bubbalicious – the Westin brunch which covers the breadth of its three signature restaurants (Hunter’s, Blue Orange and Spice Emporium) and its outside gardens.
Ensuring regulars never tire of the vast offerings – which we doubt they ever will, as you need around three visits just to see it all – the Bubbalicious brunch has had a slight revamp, including a secret Alice and Wonderland themed room where sweets and mischief awaits… Brunch packages start from Dhs450 with soft drunks and Dhs550 with house beverages.
