After a whopping six and a half years of dating, Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl have finally tied the knot. The couple said their vows in a small civil ceremony in Bedford, New York.
Olivia, 28, wore a white tulle skirt and matching shorts, all by Carolina Herrera, teamed with a cream ostrich feather jumper. She added a pair of cobalt Manolo Blahniks as her “something blue”.
Sticking to her classic style, Olivia opted for a simple beauty look with dewy skin, smokey eyes and hair pulled back into a classic centre-parted pony. “I wanted the makeup to be light and fresh and more focused about the lashes while keeping the eyes clean,” Olivia wrote on her blog. “My hair was in an uncontrived Pony Tail, one of my favorite personal looks.”
Olivia’s model husband, Johannes Huebl, also 28, complemented his bride’s ensemble with a bespoke white Marc Anthony Hamburg suit and a navy Charvet tie.
Speaking of their choice to wed in a quiet park in Bedford, rather than the bustle of Manhattan, the socialite said: “We really wanted to keep this beautiful day very private and special to us and enjoyed the whole day with our family and two friends. Bedford is such an amazing and romantic countryside.”
The rumour mill was rife with stories that the couple married last Saturday. The New York Post alleged that they said their vows in a “secret, quickie ceremony.” The newspaper went on to claim that the couple were forced to change wedding plans because Johannes faced visa issues and may have to leave the country.
However, Olivia’s spokeswoman, Barbara Saint-Aime, claimed these reports were nonsense, saying: “They had always planned to have a small civil wedding in June. The whole visa thing is not relevant. They have been together for six-and-a-half years, they got engaged this past January. They travel so much during the summer, they really don’t have much time to plan things.”
We’re glad the rumours were false because, judging by the pictures, Olivia and Johannes had a wedding befitting of their low-key yet impossibly chic romance.
