Recognised the world over for her iconic and effortless street style looks, it’s no surprise that Olivia Palermo has been asked by popular sunglasses label Westward Leaning to design a unique capsule collection for the brand.
The company, which launched in 2012, has been a favourite of the newly engaged star for many years, much to the delight of Westward Leaning co-founder Robert Denning who commented: “Olivia was one of our brand’s earliest and most loyal supporters, and has remained a fan as we’ve grown our company, I couldn’t have asked for a better informal brand ambassador, and it’s been so rewarding working with her on this collaboration.”
The capsule collection, which is available to buy on her eponymous website, oliviapalermo.com, consists of eight unique styles all adapted from the classic Wayfarer shape in materials like plastic and wood with a matte black or sleek transparent finish. Named and inspired by her favourite vacation spots around the world, including Palm Beach and Berlin, the frames all feature a unique ‘muted’ gold lens, a signature element of the collaboration.
Clearly thrilled with the partnership, Olivia commented: “Westward Leaning sunglasses are effortlessly chic and flattering to just about any ensemble, which has made this collaboration a dream.” The star is also thrilled with the charitable component to the collaboration, as the brand are donating US$10 from every pair sold to ADCAM’s Maasai Project, a philanthropic initiative very close to Olivia’s heart – the project helps preserve and support the Maasai culture in Africa. A longtime ambassador for the foundation the petite beauty made it clear this aspect of the collaboration was just as important to her, adding: “Not only am I working with Westward Leaning on creating timeless sunglasses that I love, I am also able to support ADCAM, a charity that is near and dear to my heart.”
