And one of their best looks comes via one Elie Saab.
Remember when Black Panther premiered and we all realised that this cast weren’t here to play around? When you’ve got Angela Bassett in Naaem Khan and Lupita Nyong’o in a regal Versace number, you know it’s on another level.
They kept it up for the whole press tour, too. Need we remind you of Danai Gurira’s incredible Jean-Louis Sabaji? Outstanding stuff.
Well, we’re calling it now. The successors to that crown (the one we just invented, for best cast-wide styling on the promo circuit) have to be the ladies of Ocean’s 8.
Observe, if you will, the cast’s full outfits at a photo call at New York’ Metropolitan Museum of Art.
First up, let’s note how masterfully Cate Blanchett is working those red satin Aquazurra heels with her purple velvet suit. It’s Salvatore Ferragamo, and it’s gorgeous.
Now we’ve got to turn our attention to Sandra Bullock’s grass green Elie Saab jumpsuit. With her sleek, centre-parted hair and subtle makeup, it’s elegant and playful at once. We’re in love.
The rest of the cast look incredible too, from Sarah Paulson’s Michael Kors get-up to Mindy Kaling’s Stella McCartney.
Here’s another look at Paulson’s outfit. How good is that pointed collar?
It’s reflected in her point-toed heels, too. Clever.
And as Kaling notes in her Instagram caption here, her pearl-beaded coat is a nice nod to her role in the film as a jeweller.
Nothing is an accident with this crowd.
Anne Hathaway is wearing Toni Maticevski, by the way, and we haven’t yet been able to identify Awkafina’s jumpsuit.
This photo call is only missing one thing, really, and that’s Rihanna. The Bajan multi-hyphenate plays a hacker in the film, which follows a heist at the Met Gala.
Here’s the trailer:
We can expect more from Elie Saab in the movie itself, too. Model Kendall Jenner has a cameo wearing the Lebanese couturier.
Ocean’s 8 comes out on June 21 in the UAE.
