Still struggling with coming back to work after a long Eid break? Well this news will cheer you right up.

The Dubai Government has officially confirmed that there will be a one day public holiday for the private and public sector in September to mark the Islamic New Year.

Moon sighting is yet to determine the exact date but it looks like it could fall on Sunday, September 1, meaning you’ll enjoy an extended weekend before dragging yourself back to office on Monday, September 2.

A dry night has also been confirmed meaning there will be no alcoholic beverages served between  6.30pm on Saturday August 31, until 7.30pm on Sunday September 1.

Now, what shall we do with our precious day off…
