This week marks the final week of the 2021 Dubai Fitness Challenge.

The initiative was first launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, in 2017, to encourage the residents of Dubai to be more active.

As the challenge comes to a close, Sheikh Hamdan is inviting everyone to end it on a high note and take part in the Dubai Run this Friday, November 26.

Part of Sheikh Zayed Road will turn into a running track where the residents of Dubai can walk, jog or run a choice of 10km or 5km route.

Run past iconic buildings including the Museum of the Future, Emirates Towers, Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and more.

Sharing a video to Instagram, the Crown Prince said: “Are you ready to run? Join me.”

“With your participation, we will make Dubai the most active city in the world,” he added on Twitter.

Sheikh Hamdan, affectionately known as Fazza, launched the initiative four years ago with a simple premise: being active for 30 minutes for 30 days.

This is part of his wider plan for Dubai to be a global hub for health and fitness.
