Designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana brought Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream to life at their Alta Moda show this weekend, and now their ethereal masterpieces will be available for fans exclusively on net-a-porter.com.

There were fairies, there was a woman wearing donkey ears and there were gilded beauties as Dolce & Gabbana presented its whimsical Alta Moda looks at a decadent but imitate garden party – attended by the who’s who of the fashion world including, Emirates Woman’s own Group Editor Sophia Serin – held at Dolce’s magnificent private lawn in the stunning fishing village of Portofino.

The runway ran down winding pathways as the red sun set in the background – the most idyllic backdrop for the garden-inspired collection, which is as close as you will get to a fashion fairy tale.

“I want to bring them to a place where fantasy and reality become confused,” said Dolce.

If you didn’t get the chance to experience the collection yourself, fear not as you can still enjoy the fabulous pieces as net-a-porter.com reveals it will launch a Dolce & Gabbana limited edition Portofino capsule collection with online exclusivity.

“The quaint Ligurian town of Portofino with its cobbled streets, picturesque piazza and idyllic scenery serves as inspiration for this special collection,” says a net-a-porter.com source “The quintessentially Dolce&Gabbana capsule is awash with colour and print and infused with the essence of the coastal town.”

The exclusive collection includes a selection of pencil skirts, tunics, mini dresses and evening gowns in charmeuse, full skirts in twill and poplin sundresses. Beachwear is emblazoned with foulard prints depicting Portofino’s scenery, framed by pink hydrangea and the deep blue hue of the Tigullio Gulf. An array of accessories will also be available with a selection of maxi bags for the beach, mini bags for smartphones, brightly coloured espadrilles and sandals complete the offering.

You can shop the exclusive #DGPortofino Dolce & Gabbana collection on net-a-porter.com from July 22, 2015. It’s time to flex some plastic….
