A bold statement

We first came across New York-based jewellery brand Melissa Kaye when we saw Rihanna step out wearing Aria three-row earcuff. And, if it’s good enough for RiRi, it’s good enough for us.

Diving further into the brand’s array of pieces, it’s hard to resist the contemporary and edgy use of neon enamel. Simple and impactful, this is one of the best, and most minimal, ways to bring some colour to your jewellery box.

With a computer science degree from MIT and 10 years of experience working as a quantitative strategist at Goldman Sachs, Kaye decided to take her passion for sparkle further by completing a jewellery design program at FIT in New York.

With a proven attention to detail and an alternative approach to jewellery making, she launched her namesake brand in 2013.

Kaye draws inspiration from geometric and natural patterns, while her engineering background puts functionality at the core of the brand.

Everything is made from 18-karat gold, and can feature diamonds and sapphires, with many of her pieces offering an alternative way of wearing. Think rings that can be worn on the reverse or striking, acid-neon enamel pieces that feature unexpectedly-placed diamonds.

Neon is a cool twist on a classic, and these unique pieces will look just as good with a simple T-shirt, as they would with a evening gown. Wear as a single statement, or layer for a contemporary chic result.
