The human rights lawyer has been sporting some seriously high-fashion looks of late.
For her work as a high-powered barrister and humanitarian, Amal Clooney can be relied upon to showcase plenty of elegant suiting and classic separates.
However the British-Lebanese human rights lawyer certainly doesn’t play it sartorially safe 24/7.
The 40-year-old, who welcomed twins with Hollywood star husband George last year, is in fact quite the fashion-forward star – a fact she’s particularly demonstrated in recent weeks.
From avant-garde leather skinnies to Jackie O-worthy outerwear, Beirut-born Clooney has been pulling out noteworthy off-duty outfit after noteworthy off-duty outfit.
So here, we’ve rounded up some of her most trendsetting looks to pore over (or immediately jump on to Net-a-Porter to copy, we won’t judge)…
Clooney stepped out in New York on the weekend, adding some cheer to the chilly night with a bold yellow coat from Lanvin. With its relaxed, slouchy silhouette and sunshine-bright palette, the lawyer wisely tempered the vibrant outerwear with neutral taupe suede thigh-high boots.
In what might be Clooney’s edgiest look yet, she donned these leather and denim hybrid trousers from cool-kid designer Alexander Wang for dinner with husband George. Teamed with a simple tee and an embroidered bomber jacket, the mother-of-two hit that dream balance between cutting-edge and effortlessly cool.
This baby blue Ermanno Scervino coat is positively dripping in vintage influences, but given a more modern twist with a shearling collar and textured wool. Clooney teamed the elegantly classic piece with a grey-toned leopard print dress, for a statement finish that felt contemporary yet still boardroom-appropriate.
The barrister has really been going hell for leather, as further proved with this caramel Diane Von Furstenberg trench. Crafted in the supple fabric with a luxe sheen, Clooney echoed the warm autumnal tone with matching checked trousers and simple black accessories.
Consider us convinced; we now absolutely have to pick up some kind of leather coat (even though summer is on its way). This Alexander Wang trench coat is a prime example of how to make the tough fabric look feminine, with its artful pleating and contrasting sleeves.
