With over two million Instagram followers, a crew of celebrity friends, Joan Collins as a godmother and, despite her tender 20 years, Cara Delevingne is at the top of the modelling game. So it’s little wonder that Mulberry snapped up the young beauty to star in their new A/W13-14 campaign.
Shot by renowned Brit photographer Tim Walker, Cara vies for the camera’s attention among a host of other birds, or to be more correct, some rather fierce looking owls.
At first glance, we thought the owls might be superimposed or fake, but after watching the video, we can confirm they are very real.
Set in a grand manor house, the campaign exudes mystery and childhood fantasies of playing in the woods surrounded by nature.
Drawing on the beauty of England’s countryside, Mulberry’s Creative Director Emma Hill has created a stunning collection featuring deep burgundy and teal leathers, chunky tweeds and plush, tailored pea coats.
After six years at the helm of the house, Hill’s departure was recently announced.
It was Hill who helped make Mulberry’s bags some of the most coveted arm candy in the industry. Who could forget the best-selling ‘Alexa’ and ‘Del Ray’ totes?
Despite no word from Hill, Mulberry released a statement saying, “Mulberry confirms that Emma has informed the company that she wishes to leave after a very successful period at Mulberry during which she has built a strong and talented creative team working for her.
“The main spring/summer 2014 collection has been completed and Emma continues to work in the business finalising the London Fashion Week collection, which will be launched on September 15, 2013. The timing of her departure is currently under discussion and has yet to be finalised.”
The fashion pack is alight with speculations that Hill has taken up a role over at Coach in the States.
There is no word yet on who will succeed Hill.
