With Ted Cruz suspending his US presidential campaign, chances of Donald Trump becoming the next US President are getting worryingly close, something George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney aren’t too happy about, with the human rights lawyer even speaking out about the Republican front-runner in a recent speech.

Amal Clooney isn’t the only celebrity who won’t be giving Donald Trump her support – read our interview with actress Kerry Washington firmly revealing she is Team Hillary – but she is one of the few to speak out about it, and that she did very eloquently during an interview with BBC News.

Amal and her Hollywood heartthrob husband George are firm Clinton supporters, even taking part in fundraising events for Hillary’s campaign. They are supporters largely because of her policies, which differ wildly to the policies and statements made by  Donald Trump – need we remind you about the banning of Muslims going to America should he win the election?

When asked about how critical the crossroads are in American politics at the moment, Lebanese-born Amal, who is also Muslim replied: “I think it really is critical; perhaps more than any other elections that have happened in the US for a very long time.”

She went on to explain the critical nature comes from Donald Trump and his sweeping accusations: “When you listen to what [Donald Trump] has been saying about building walls, about excluding Mexicans and saying there has to be a complete shut down on all Muslims from entering… When you actually look at what he has been specifically saying in that now infamous speech about Muslims he kept saying: ‘They only want Jihad… They don’t believe in our way of life… They don’t respect the system’. When he said ‘they’ I think people should have been saying: ‘Do you mean the 1.5 billion people around the world who fit that description, do you mean the US citizens who are the members of your military?”

The Human rights lawyer claimed she is “perplexed” by the success of Trump in the race for the White House. Well, she’s not the only one…
