Mohamed Hadid has announced the death of his “beautiful eldest sister” Ghada Hadid.

Earlier this week, the property tycoon had revealed on Instagram that his sister was in hospital after contracting COVID-19 and pneumonia which resulted in a heart attack.

The 73-year-old announced she had passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2022.

In his tribute, Mohamed detailed how his Palestinian-born sister and his parents were “forced out of our home in Safad she endured the refugee life … and a world of success”.

“My sister may God open the Gates of Heaven wide open and give Ghada an easy entry you will be among the most beautiful Palestinians in heaven Momma wa baba Magida Maha our beloved cousin Zuhair and all the freedom fighters of Palestine to greet you,” he added.

Mohamed’s daughters, Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid, also posted tributes to their aunt on Instagram mourning her death.

The father-of-five has previously been open about how he was forced to flee his home when he was just a baby.

Sharing a picture from his younger years back in 2020, Mohamed explained that he doesn’t have “a single picture of me [as] when I was a baby I was just about 9 days old when I and my family were refugees to the refugee camps in Syria from Palestine”.

Mohamed eventually relocated to the US where he has resided for a number of years.
