So, it’s ciao from Milan Fashion Week as its S/S14 season draws to an end on September 23. Dubbed the ‘Italian Fashion Capital,’ there was no holding back when it came to showcasing the latest and greatest in top models and designers. Here are some interesting facts about Milan Fashion Week S/S14…

The Italian fashion extravaganza boasted an impressive total of 146 collections, including 74 catwalk shows, 69  presentations and 15 exclusive appointment-only presentations.

Milan has being trying to refresh its image ever since Paris and London stepped up their game in recent years with bold shows and risk taking – breaking free from the conventional.

And Milan’s hard work seemed to pay off with around 70 per cent  of the city’s hotel rooms booked for the duration of fashion week. Milan also managed to convince Italian design house Costume National to return home after 22 years of Paris shows. Another exciting addition, handpicked by Giorgio Armani himself, was the debut of Rome-based designer Stella Jean who showed her ethical collection at Teatro Armani. Impressively hers was the first solo womenswear show in the venue’s history.
