They say third time’s a charm but Michelle Williams has been luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton’s lucky charm ever since she became the face for the brand in 2013. In the latest campaign, due for release this October, the actress marks her third season as LV’s ambassadress.
Michelle Williams‘s cute grown-out pixie crop is bleached blonde, complimenting the pastel hues of the new season Louis Vuitton bag collection.
The mum of one took time out of her busy schedule – she is currently starring on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of the musical Cabaret, co-directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall – to work on the photoshoot shot by acclaimed photographed Peter Lindbergh. The resulting series of portraits are minimalistic yet elegance, offering an insight to the woman behind the actress. A Louis Vuitton spokesperson said: “It offers an intriguing balance of force and fragility that made Michelle such a compelling choice as the face of Louis Vuitton.”
The campaign spotlights two emblematic Louis Vuitton bags, the Capucines and the Lockit, in new shades: sky blue Outremer, soft pink Magnolia and dark blue Cobalt with bright fuchsia edging for the Capucines; beige Galet and Black with python trim for the Lockit. A separate visual features the Emprise watch.
For the first time, Michelle also wears looks from Nicolas Ghesquière‘s collections. The pared-down backdrop of the New York studio resonates with the pure lines of both the bags and the ready-to-wear, and, in focusing the eye on the expressive beauty of Michelle, creates a subtle, intimate ambiance.
Long gone are Michelle’s more dorky fashions from her Dawson’s Creek days, the 33-year-old beauty is now a bona fide style icon, with her elegant but modern sartorial choices on the red carpet being the most coveted in Hollywood – no surprise really that Louis Vuitton jumped at the chance to sign her up.
The new Louis Vuitton advertising campaign starring Michelle Williams will break in the October 2014 issues of magazines worldwide.
