Met Gala 2023: Doja Cat and Jared Leto were seen in their “purr-fect” red carpet looks

While the highly-anticipated guest, Choupette did not make an appearance at the Met Gala 2023, a few notable attendees embraced the iconic White Burmese cat.

With the perfect balance of couture and playfulness, Doja Cat and Jared Leto were seen in their photo-worthy looks to channel the blue-cream Birman.

Year after year, this prestigious event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art witnesses some show-stopping looks and this year was no different as the duo charmed the spectators with their rather unique looks.

Seen in a head-to-toe costume, Leto undoubtedly became the unspoken mascot of the night with his enormous cat head that featured Lagerfeld’s cat’s head. Seen in a life-size costume, the feline look took a twist as the night progressed with The House of Gucci actor in an all-black ensemble with a bedazzled cap, semi-sheet blouse, pleated skirt and black trousers.

Known for her striking looks, Doja didn’t play it safe this time and managed to experiment yet again with her hooded gown by Oscar de la Renta, which included cat ears on the hood, silver sequins and an elegant mermaid silhouette that highlighted a Blanche feathered train. As no easy feat, this gown took over 5,000 hours to create with its intricate 350,000 Silver and White bugle beads. To resemble the feline charm, this A-lister went all in and embraced a dramatic black cat eyeliner and buffed up her nose to nail the theme.

The theme for this year was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”. As homage to this distinguished designer, known for his signature creations, these two celebrities earned some well-deserved love as they honoured Lagerfeld’s iconic cat with a nuanced touch.
