Anarchy chic reigned at the Met event last night.
See below for EW’s top three trends of the night.
Heavy Metal
Guests went for grunge chic with leather, studs and spikes. Brit It girls Cara Delevingne and Sienna Miller followed suit and nailed the punk theme to a T.
Cara rocked a custom Burberry black gown with a plunging spiked bodice, super smokey eyes and a deep side parting.
Sienna also turned to Burberry for the event. The actress wore an elegant white gown toughened up with a heavy leather jacket, spritzed with studs and spikes. Sienna topped off her look with a spiked hairpiece on side swept locks.
Hell For Leather
We saw plenty of glossy leather accents on the red carpet but these two stars rocked it head-to-toe.
Jessica Alba looked amazing in a laser-cut leather Tory Burch gown, featuring risqué cut-out details across her chest and torso. The actress took the look a step further, accessorising with the Christian Louboutin Marquise stud clutch.
Victoria Secret Angel Doutzen Kroes proved exactly why she’s one of the world’s biggest supermodels in a killer black leather Theyskens’ Theory gown. The strapless frock had a corset bodice and sheer chiffon skirt.
Monochrome Mania
Many of the Met guests ditched the rainbow brights and opted for a palette of black and white.
Gwen Stefani wore a belly baring Maison Martin Margiela gown with diamonds and her signature scarlet pout.
Actress Leelee Sobieski wore a figure hugging Christian Dior gown finished with intricate floral detailing embroidered onto sheer sleeves.
