While rumours have been rampant for the past two years about an alleged royal rift, it appears it’s water under the bridge for royal sisters-in-law Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
A report has emerged that the pair are in discussions for a Netflix project together.
Per Us Weekly, the Duchess of Sussex has reportedly been in touch with the Duchess of Cambridge about a documentary with the streaming giant.
“Meghan and Kate are actually getting along really well and have been in touch more often,” a source told the outlet. “Meghan has been talking to her about collaborating on a project for Netflix, a documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy.”
According to the source, the Duchess of Cambridge is “very flattered” and relations between the two sisters-in-law are “very positive”.
The news of this reported documentary comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed a multi-year deal with Netflix for an undisclosed amount in September last year.
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” Prince Harry and Meghan said in a statement. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
They also added that working with Netflix – which has 193 million subscribers around the globe – will help them “share impactful stories that unlocks action”.
Relations between the Sussexes and the royal family have reportedly suffered in recent years due to the couple stepping down from their public royal duties and relocating to the USA. Similarly, their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March definitely rocked the boat amongst the establishment.
However, this news of the reported project for Meghan and Kate may just be the sign that everything between families is now on the mend.
