Diamonds are a girl’s best-friend!
Earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle took a brief break from her maternity leave to attend Trooping the Colour with the royal family. During the appearance most people were too focused on the new ring on her finger, that we didn’t notice that her engagement ring has been changed up.
Meghan and Harry attended the Trooping the Colour event, which marked the Queen’s 93rd birthday. It was the former actress’ first public outing since welcoming her first son Archie Harrison, and she looked radiant in a blue Givenchy coat and a matching fascinator by Noel Stewart. But the highlight of her look was the brand new piece of sparkle on her ring finger. Sitting underneath her engagement ring and wedding band was an eternity ring which many believe was a gift from Prince Harry to mark the birth of their first child – a tradition many have adopted including the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge.

However, this wan’t the only addition to her ring finger. The Duchess’ own engagement ring underwent a change, as Town & Country pointed out, the band on Meghan’s ring has been swapped from a yellow gold design to a micro pavé one. After taking a closer look, we have noticed tiny diamonds line the outside of the band, which weren’t there when the mother-of-one debuted her ring in November 2017.
It is not known when exactly did Meghan upgrade her famous piece of jewellery, but according to Town & Country she was first spotted with the new band at baby Archie’s debut on May 8. Moreover, it is also unclear of this is the same engagement ring, or a new piece of jewellery altogether. Either way, we are down for the stone-heavy ring on the Duchess.
Harry first turned to jeweller Cleave & Company to create Meghan’s engagement ring. In their first joint interview after announcing their engagement, the 34-year-old Prince revealed that he chose yellow gold for the band because it’s her favourite. The ring’s centre stone is a cushion-cut diamond from Botswana, which is a special place for the couple. Meanwhile, the two smaller round-cut diamonds were taken from Princess Diana’s personal collection.
