Mary Katrantzou's Rome-inspired accessories collection for Bvlgari

Mary Katrantzou’s debut collection for Bvlagri, The “Calla” collection, is a work of art that encapsulates the creative spirit and incredible talent that define both the Greek designer’s sensibilities and Italian jewellery and fashion house.

The Creative Director for Leather Goods and Accessories draws its inspiration from Bvlgari’s historic home Rome, greatly influencing the design narrative across this exquisite capsule of handbags and accessories. A leitmotif is seen throughout, inspired by the Terme di Caracalla, one of the seven wonders of Rome in antiquity. Embracing the enchantment of this historic site, Mary Katrantzou weaves a tapestry of these influences to introduce new creations that forms a breathtaking universe of expressive elegance with edgy preciousness whose intricacies pay tribute to Bvlgari’s unparalleled artisanal expertise.

New and noteworthy additions to the “Serpenti Forever” silhouettes are introduced, taking on forms with simplicity and refined elegance that encourages appreciation of detail and craftsmanship that resonates across generations. The “Serpenti Sugarloaf”, a padded Nappa leather shoulder bag takes the form and name from the exquisite and rare high-domed variant of Bvlgari’s signature cabochon cut. The “Serpentine Duo” handbag is a trapeze-shaped tote inspired by the faceted cut of precious gems and features a double Serpenti head on each side, which also comes in a leather version for an elevated arm candy for daytime and one covered with crystals for sophisticated evenings. Last but not the least is the “Ginkgo Clutch”, expertly executed in fine Nappa leather and moulded metal, it melds the artisan work of jewelry-making and leather craft in a single piece.
