This past year has changed our beauty habits drastically, we’re still aiming to look good but with a little more comfort and that’s why all of summer 2021, we’ll be making the most of the minimalist makeup trend. If you think minimalist makeup is boring, then you’re not alone, I used to think that way too, until I tried it out and felt like I was straight out of Beyonce’s “I woke up like this” video!
Finding the right skincare for a minimalist look is easy, there are so many brands that have finally seen the light and are packing their products with ‘good’ and ‘healthy’ ingredients.

Long-lasting makeup
Hydro grip primer
Minimalist skin is what we’d all love to achieve but we also want it to stay in place during these summer months! To keep your makeup on and lasting all day whilst still looking fresh is not easy but MILK Hydro Grip Primer is downright famous and will change your makeup game.
Pro tip: Apply it using your fingers and let it settle in for a few minutes before applying foundation. This way the primer locks in place ready for the next step.

A concealed base
Bright Fix eye brightener
Healthy-looking skin is all the rage right now however for most of us it takes makeup to get it looking that way. You don’t always have to opt for the foundation to cover up the flaws and even out your skin. Try using only a concealer as your base. The Fenty Beauty Bright Fix gives great coverage whilst looking minimal so your skin still looks like skin.
Pro tip: Apply a few dots everywhere that you feel you need it, i.e under eyes, corners of the mouth etc. Then use your finger to pat it into the skin. Add more if needed but this alone will make a big difference!

A natural flush
Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment
Flushed cheeks is my thing right now and it seems like it’s a trend that’s not going anywhere anytime soon. ILIA Color Haze Multi-use Pigment is a product you can use on eyelids, cheeks and lips so there are so many looks you can create with this!
Pro tip: Apply a tiny dot to the upper cheekbones and buff in with a sponge for a lifted flushed look.

Jet black natural glossy mascara
Strip lashes have become the norm for daywear so it’s refreshing to strip things back and bring back the natural lashes. So many mascaras focus on volume or length that you need to head back to the early mascaras that are best for natural-looking lashes like the Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara.
