The Mean Girls star also opened up about how the city brings her “serenity” in a recent interview.

We’ve got plenty of A-list-worthy attractions in Dubai—but a newly touted one might have even more star power than usual.

Hollywood actress and part-time UAE resident Lindsay Lohan has revealed she’s planning to create her own island off the emirate’s coast on a recent TV appearance.

The Parent Trap star told US TV host Wendy Williams last week that she was in talks to launch an eponymous getaway as part of the long-anticipated World Islands project.

“I’m discussing designing an island in Dubai, with The World Islands. I have a lot of little projects there, because I like to keep myself busy,” she said in the show broadcast on January 12.

“I have my club too, in Athens, and then we’re opening one in Mykonos,” the 31-year-old added.

“I figured I’ve gone to enough [islands], I should have my own.”

The World Islands development lies about 4.5 kilometres off the coast of Dubai, and is comprised of a man-made archipelago spanning nine kilometres by seven kilometres.

First announced in 2003, it has faced setbacks, but in September Nakheel said about 70 per cent of the properties were spoken for.

So is one of those Lohan Island? Nakheel haven’t confirmed Lohan’s claims, although the actress did visit the project’s Thailand Island last October.

During her visit, the star shared a clip of the artificial beach, captioning it “#LOHANISLANDDUBAI.”

The Mean Girls actress also opened up about her life in the city to Williams, revealing Dubai has offered her a more peaceful (and paparazzi-free) existence.

“I didn’t really know how to have a private life, because I was so young,” she said of her time in Los Angeles. “I really enjoy my serenity in Dubai… you can go out and have fun, but it’s a different kind of fun that you have.”

In December, Lohan also told Entertainment Tonight that in the city “I can actually focus on what I want to do in life”.

“I don’t always have to be scrutinised every second. I can have a private life and have a public life, but when I choose to. And I think that’s really important.”
