Kim Kardashian is officially a single woman again.
Amidst her lengthy divorce proceedings from Kanye West, a Los Angeles court judge granted the reality star to change her marital status to single, as well as revert her last name to just ‘Kardashian’ not ‘Kardashian West’, per TMZ, who first reported the news.
This ruling comes three months after the beauty mogul filed to become legally single and just over a year after Kim first filed for divorce from Kanye after seven years of marriage.
It was reported by BuzzFeed News that legal papers filed beauty mogul in December 2021 declared there was “no counselling or reconciliation effort” that could save her marriage to Kanye, now known as ‘Ye’.
The papers also reportedly stated Kim cited “irreconcilable differences” between her and her estranged husband.
“Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [Kanye] and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down,” Kim stated, according to BuzzFeed News. “No counselling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time.”
Last month, Kim, 41, broke her silence about the “constant attacks” she had been receiving from Kanye. The statement was issued after Kanye claimed their daughter North was being “put on TikTok against [his] will”.
“Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” she said.
“As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision – because it brings her happiness.”
The beauty mogul went on to say that going through the motions of divorce was “difficult enough” on their four children – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm – and claimed his “obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all”.
The pair wed in May 2014 and have four children together – North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, four, and 21-month-old Psalm.
Kim is currently dating comedian Pete Davidson.
