Kim Kardashian has made a rare statement regarding her divorce from estranged husband Kanye West.
The reality star broke her silence issuing a lengthy statement on Instagram regarding comments the rapper recently made about their eldest child North being on popular social media app TikTok.
On Thursday, Kanye, 44, took to Instagram sharing a screenshot of one of North’s videos claiming she was being “put on TikTok against [his] will”.
In response, Kim took to her Instagram story, breaking her silence about the “constant attacks” she is receiving from her estranged husband and father of their four children together.
“Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” she said.
“As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision – because it brings her happiness.”
The beauty mogul went on to say that going through the motions of divorce was “difficult enough” on their four children – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm – and claimed his “obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all”.
“From the beginning I have wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship because it is what is best for our children and it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way,” she continued.
“I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably.”
Kim filed for divorce back in February 2021 after seven years of marriage to Kanye. Since then, divorce proceedings have been ongoing.
Late last year, Kim filed to become “legally single” amid the ongoing divorce proceedings.
It was also reported by BuzzFeed News that legal papers filed beauty mogul in December 2021 declared there was “no counselling or reconciliation effort” that could save her marriage to Kanye, now known as ‘Ye’.
The papers also reportedly state Kim has cited “irreconcilable differences” between her and her estranged husband.
“Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [Kanye] and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down,” Kim stated, according to BuzzFeed News. “No counselling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time.”
