The Kardashian’s favourite designer

Last Thursday, the Kardashian-Jenner clan dressed to the nine’s for Kourtney’s 40th birthday. And in true Kardashian style, it looked like the party was as glamorous as can be, as evident by Khloe’s crystal embellished ensemble.

The youngest Kardashian wore a dress and headpiece designed by Kuwaiti designer, Yousef El-Jassmi, which is valued at $6,500 (AED 23875.80). The Khaleeji designer worked with the 34-year-old and her stylist Janelle Miller on the sparkly custom look. The designer spoke with PEOPLE about the design process, saying that Khloe knew exactly what she wanted right from the start.

The mother-of-one who recently just celebrated her daughter True’s first birthday, stunned in a high-neck column dress, which was covered in Swarovski crystals and beads with a matching headpiece. “Both Khloé and Janelle were very involved, sending over screenshots from my Instagram and inspiration photos to work off of. They knew the exact look they wanted to achieve, so we worked very closely to perfect the design, from the colour to crystals.”

Yousef, who is known for his love for everything that sparkles, told the American magazine: “We wanted to create a look that was pure glamour but stayed true to Khloé’s ever-changing personal style. Khloé and her stylist wanted a gown that was over the top; sparkly and elegant for Kourtney’s special occasion.” He told PEOPLE that the vibe that the reality star was going for was: “sexy, elegant and overall fun, mimicking her personality.”

This isn’t the first time that a member of the Kardashian-Jenner family wears a piece created by the Kuwaiti designer. Speaking on working with him, Janelle said: “I love that Yousef instantly gets it! Khloé will send over inspiration of what she wants and he just gets it. He has designed for her so many times that he just seems to understand her vision from the start.” After settling on a colour and design, the dress took less than a week to complete, with a week set aside for shipping and customs to Los Angeles from Kuwait.
