Now in it’s seventh year, the industry platform has collated new names of people who they feel are “shaping the global fashion industry that grows stronger over time.” Newest additions include former refugee and model Ugbad Abdi. She hit the headlines after becoming the first hijabi model to walk for Fendi, and since then has graced the runways of Valentino and Burberry.

Deepika Padukone needs no introduction. The highest-paid actress in India has joined the likes of Zendaya, Bottega Veneta’s designer Daniel Lee, and founder of plus-size luxury e=commerce site 11 Honoré, Patrick Herning.

Khloe Kardashian was recognised for her inclusive collection of premium denim, workout clothing, and bodysuits under the brand Good American, while Meghan Markle made the list for her charitable work with Smart Works that supports women who want to get back into the workforce.

There’s also been a slight shift in how the list is put together. Instead of removing names each year to make room for new talents, going forward they will be introducing 100 new members to the BoF 500 each cycle
