When oral hygiene meets beauty

The Kardashian-Jenner clan are best known for their reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but over the past few years, they have each branched out on their own. Kylie launched her own makeup empire, making her the world’s youngest self-made billionaire and sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloé all followed suit with their own brands. Now, it seems like Kendall is following in her sisters footsteps with the launch of Moon.

The 23-year-old model is an investor in L.A.-based beauty vegan oral hygiene brand Moon, according to WWDThe label makes you want to was your mouth, with their seven-piece line of vegan products, which include activated charcoal whitening toothpaste, a mouthwash, dental floss and toothbrushes. If you are wondering why Kendall chose to financially back this up-and-coming brand, it is because she didn’t use to know how to smile…true story!

“I used to not know how to smile. That’s a fun fact. It was really cool being a part of the building process. It is really based on oral beauty and it goes back to even the aesthetic thing and how it looks really nice on your counter. One of the many cool things about Moon is that I think that the whole idea is really chic and you’re not afraid to have it out and be like, ‘I’m excited. Ask me about it, please,” the runway model said in a promotional clip posted on the brand’s Instagram page.

She also shared the news with her 108 million Instagram followers with a black and white picture of her brushing her teeth, which she captioned: “Excited to launch @moon #moon_partner.” The products are now available to shop on the brand’s official website, and will be available in Ulta Beauty stores beginning in May. Moreover, it will later on be available to other undisclosed brick and mortar retailers .

This is not Kendall’s first foray into the world of beauty. The model has previously worked with Estée Lauder and Formawell Beauty to launch a mini collection of two hot tools and two hairbrushes dubbed Kendall Jenner X Formawell Beauty. Also, she recently announced that she is the face of Proactiv, promoting skin-positivity.

A source disclosed to WWD that the brand is expected to make between $30-35 million US dollars in its first year. This comes as no surprise, seeing as how each of her sisters endeavours have proven to be extremely successful.
