A magical birthday!

On October 25, Katy Perry celebrated her 35th birthday. To mark this milestone, the Dark Horse singer and her financé Orlando Bloom jetted to Egypt to celebrate.

There is nothing like celebrating your birthday on a trip surrounded by friends and family, and that is what the pop-star did. Katy, her actor fiancé and 60 of her closest friends went on a lavish and adventurous 10-day-cruise around Egypt. Word has been swirling on social media of the singer in Egypt, but we finally have confirmation after she shared pictures from her trip on Instagram.

The birthday girl shared a slideshow of four pictures with her 86.3 million followers. All of the phots show the singer standing in front of the Pyramids, with the sun setting behind her. In one of the pictures, she is seen cuddling Orlando while posing in a floaty dress and headscarf with the Pyramids in silhouette behind her.

She captioned the post: “Ancient Egyptians believed that when you pass on your heart had to be weighed. It had to be lighter than a feather to be qualified for the trip to the afterlife. My mother has called me feather since I was a little girl and I hope after all is said and done my heart is as light as one. This is 35.”

The Lord of the Rings actor also shared pictures from their trip to the pyramids on Instagram. In one he could be seen admiring the view, while in the other pictures he is hugging Katy and his mother, Sonia Copeland, who also celebrated her birthday in Egypt. In the post, Orlando gave a shout-out to the two Scorpio ‘wonder women’ in his life, writing: “It’s like looking out over the entire cosmos – Egyptian magic got my heart open to a download of love for my Scorpio’s ♏️ wonder women both celebrating their #birthday.

The power-couple, who got engaged in February after Orlando popped the question with a unique flower-design ring on Valentine’s Day, didn’t just visit the Pyramids. From pictures posted by one of Katy’s friends, it is clear that they toured most of the country’s historic sites, including Luxor, Aswan and Siwa Oasis.
