Three new stunning portraits of the Duchess of Cambridge have been released to mark her milestone 40th birthday.
The photographs of Kate were taken back in November by photographer Paolo Roversi at London’s Kew Gardens.
In the portraits, the Duchess of Cambridge wore different gowns by one of her favourite designers, Alexander McQueen, and also paid tribute to two strong royal women who came before her – Her Majesty the Queen and the late Princess Diana of Wales.

In the first black and white photograph, Kate is seen wearing jewellery pieces that belonged to her mother-in-law. Of course, her famous sapphire engagement ring and a pair of pearl drop earrings which also belonged to the late princess.
Meanwhile another of the portraits where the duchess is seen wearing a red one-shoulder dress, Kate wore a pair of diamond drop earrings that belong to the head of the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II.
Discussing taking the official birthday portraits for Her Royal Highness, the fashion photographer described it as “a true honour for me and a moment of pure joy”.
“I was moved by her warmth and friendly welcome and enchanted by her shining eyes that reflected the loveliness of her soul and her smile showing the generosity of her heart,” Roversi continued.
“It was a profound and rich experience for me, an unforgettable moment. I have met a wonderful person, a person who, with her positive energy, can bring hope to the whole world.”
