Julia Roberts Is The Face Of Givenchy

First Madonna was named as the new face for Versace spring/summer 2015 and now Julia Roberts has been named as the latest ambassador for Givenchy – it seems the fashion world is shunning the usual age limits favoured in the world of entertainment, and we love it.The 47-year-old actress and mother-of-three has been chosen by the high-end fashion label to front the spring/summer 2015 advertising campaign. Rather than cash in on the trademark Julia Robert’s smile, Givenchy have opted for the shock effect with the star forgoing lady-like chic and showcasing a more androgynous look completed with a moody grimace, and the result is truly amazing.

The campaign images were taken by the renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, with the two images leaked on online with an excited Riccardo Tisci, who is the brand’s creative director, posting the pictures on his personal Instagram account. “I decided to make her more intellectual, more serious, more pure,” he said to WWD.  “It’s a different, fresh, new way to see Julia — really cool and urban, I think.”

Despite being named People’s Most Beautiful Woman in the world four times, and as the face of beauty brand Lancome,  Julia Roberts has revealed that she has always felt more like a tomboy, preferring to cover her curves, which means she must surely love the results of her Givenchy campaign.

She once said in an interview:  “I think I’ve always sort of been on the more boyish spectrum of girls. For example, I’ve never been chosen as ‘one of the top-five hottest actresses in a bikini.’  And honestly, it’s a godsend.”

Proving her longstanding love for the fashion brand, Julia wore a Givenchy couture gown to this year’s Oscars. The star joins fellow Hollywood beauties to pose for the luxury label including singer Erykah Badu, and models Asia Chow and Kendall Jenner.
