Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp celebrated his whirlwind engagement to actress Amber Heard this weekend with a star-studded party in Los Angeles. Warning: if you’re part of Team Vanessa Paradis it’s best no to read on.
Hinting that they are are very close to saying “I do,” the celebrity couple sent 100 invitations, reading “A & J”, to friends and family, who all attended the 1920s-themed bash held in a large black tent with a red velvet runway at the historic Carondelet House – only 15 miles east of the 21 Jump Street actor’s mansion.
Though guests started to arrive at 7pm, the stylish pair joined the party at 8pm with Amber’s sister Whitney and Johnny’s son with Vanessa, Jack. Also in attendance was the actor’s adorable mum, Betty Sue Palmer, Aerosmith legend Steve Tyler, actress Mandy Moore, musician Marilyn Manson and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
An insider said of the party: “It really got going at about 9pm as a DJ mixed a playlist of blues and oldies rock ‘n’ roll.” When it came to the cuisine, the partygoers are believed to have enjoyed “Tuna Tostadas, blue crab tacos, mini corn dogs and a mushroom pâté.”

Some sources believe the news came as a devastating shock to Vanessa, who dated the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor for 14 years, and had two kids with him, but never got a proposal. Though friends of the actress and singer insist she is happy for her ex-boyfriend. One source even stated: “She’s not bitter. She’s happy. Vanessa wished him happiness.”
Vanessa’s “no drama” attitude is said to be thanks to French pop singer Benjamin Biolay, who she has been close too ever since her official split from Johnny in June 2012.
While Amber and Johnny first met on set of The Rum Dairy in 2011 they only started stepping out as a couple a year after the 50-year-old actor announced his split to Vanessa. They made their red carpet debut as a duo in February 2013 at the premiere of Amber’s movie Three Days To Kill. It’s believed a smitten Johnny proposed to Amber, who is 23 years, his junior on Christmas Eve 2013.
Though the couple are keeping tightlipped about their forthcoming nuptials we can’t help but think the big day will be sooner rather than later.
