What was your favourite subject at school?

My favourite and the most interesting subject at school was Psychology.

What was your first job?

Believe it or not, my first ever job was working in the business development sector at IT Cyber security company.

What inspired you to launch Tutus Kurniati?

Since I have moved to Dubai I fell in love with this coastal city. Just 40 years ago Dubai was a small city surrounded by desert, and we can all see today the metropolis it has become in that short time. Fashion industry is in its growing period and Dubai has made no secret of its attempts to be a leader in this. I love fashion, I love clothes, I love the freedom in style. It’s all about Dubai, it’s fashionable and you’ll find that people here are dressed like they would be in any big city. It’s a perfect spot for fashion. You cannot stay away, especially when you are so closely tied and in love with fashion. I love to provide. Inspired by opulent beach-front living lifestyle and market demand in Dubai, TK aim to offers the most desirable variant of resort wear that fashionably unique yet flattering women’s figure. Whoever is planning a holiday I want to provide their clothing and apparel– head-to-toe from swimwear to evening dresses and more.

What are the key elements of your role?

I am the founder and Creative director of Tutus Kurniati (TK). The key element of my role is to partner with the right people, whether its designers, team, or other vendors. It is difficult to hit your goals and achieve success with people who aren’t aligned with your vision. It’s very important to be around people who are on the same page as you. We were very focused on successfully launching the brand – now we are concentrating to take TK to the next level. am constantly in search for new designers, tailors and creatives – to join the team.

Talk us through your daily routine.

I cannot start my day without green juice, it’s must have on my daily schedule. I spend my mornings with my son, prepare him for school and have breakfast together. After this, I head to the office – where the day just disappears!

What advice do you have for anyone looking to follow in the same footsteps?

Never give up – you have to keep trying and do your best even in hard times.

Which fashion brands we can find in your work wardrobe?

Magali Pascal, Thurley, Alexandre Vautheir. I am also committed to my TK starfish t-shirts. I like to match them with different brands, like Chanel or Dior.

What the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Whatever seeds you’re planting in this world; you will get it back. One way or another.
