Glam for the premiere

Jennifer Lopez brought her A-game to the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of her latest film, Hustlers. The actress debuted a new blonde bob and an Egyptian designer at the red-carpet.

It is officially Festival season and just as Venice wrapped up, Toronto is just getting started. Several movies are set to premiere at TIFF and some of Hollywood’s biggest names are jetting into the Canadian city for the event. This includes J-Lo, who was joined by her fiancé A-rod.

The 50-year-old stepped onto the red-carpet, revealing a sleek blonde bob. The actress has previously rocked highlights, but the new shade is considerably lighter than the hair colour she’s been sporting lately. Not only that, but Jen’s new hair complimented the golden yellow shade of her gown.

J-Lo wore a sultry yellow dress for the premiere, which featured a deep-v plunge. The frock designed by Dubai-based Egyptian designer, Yasmine Yeya included a long back train with a high slit in the front. The unique dress, primarily made of a sultry silk and taffeta was taken from Maison Yeya Fall-Winter ‘19 couture collection. The actress completed the look with a statement bag – the ‘stack of cash rich’ crystal-covered clutch by Judith Leiber, which costs a whopping AED 20,900.

However, Yasmine Yeya wasn’t the only Arab designer championed on the red-carpet. Jen’s diamonds were also from the region. The singer wore diamond earrings and ring by Dubai-based jeweller Amwaj. She also showed love to Beirut-based jeweller Yvan Tufenkjian, wearing two diamond rings from his jewellery collection.

The Egyptian label is based in Dubai Design District and was previously championed by Chrissy Teigen at this year’s Critics Choice Awards. Moreover, this is the second time that J-Lo champions an Egyptian designer. Last month, during her concert in Egypt’s North Coast, the signer added a design by Nagwa Zahran to her tour’s wardrobe.

Hustlers features a strong female lineup, which includes: songstress Jennifer Lopez, Keke Palmer, 10 things I hate about you actress Julia Stiles, Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart and Constance Wu, star of Crazy Rich Asians. The film draws its inspiration from a New York Magazine article which was written by Jessica Pressler in 2016. The story is set in the Big Apple, in the wake of the early 2000s financial crisis, and follows a group of club dancers who join forces to get their revenge on their Wall Street clients.
