Jameela Jamil has become incredibly well-known for advocating body positivity, especially through her initiative ‘I Weigh’ encouraging inclusivity across all walks of life.
The actress has regularly called out the Kardashian-Jenners for their promotion of diet supplements and shakes in the past. Recently she clarified to her followers why she hadn’t commented on a recent photograph Kim Kardashian West has posted of herself, squeezing into an extremely tight corset making her waist appear abnormally small.
Taking to Instagram herself, Jamil admitted that she’s “done” calling out Kardashian West on her apparent “obsession” with her body, insisting her “work is done”.
“I’ve received over 1000 DMs asking me to address this,” Jamil said in a lengthy post. “The reason I didn’t jump on it immediately isn’t because I don’t think the post was damaging and disappointing. I do. It’s because of the fact that you’re all messaging me about it, shows my work is done.”
She went on to say she aims to arm all women with the knowledge to know the unrealistic expectations that are placed on women due to patriarchy.

“If YOU know that it’s problematic, reductive and irresponsible for her to perpetuate such a heavily impossible beauty standard to her impressionable fans… then you’re empowered and conscious and don’t need me,” the 34-year-old explained.
The Good Place star also addressed Kardashian West’s body image issues directly, which she explains have been perpetuated by the media and public scrutiny she has faced throughout her time in the spotlight.
“Kim, like many of us, has had decades of body image issues and obsession,” Jamil said. “This has been HEAVILY perpetuated by how much the media scrutinized her and her sisters over their appearances. She isn’t actively trying to harm you. She’s just so harmed and deluded into thinking this is what SHE needs to look like to be special and beautiful and she’s spilling it out onto her following.
“Is this wrong? YES. But I’m not sure she realizes that she’s doing to others what her idols did to her, in making her think a tiny waist is the key to femininity and sex appeal.”
She encouraged her followers to unfollow anyone who would make them feel less-than what they should, adding that continually attacking the 39-year-old reality star wouldn’t achieve anything.
Jamil’s main mission with ‘I Weigh’ since she launched the initiative in 2018 has been to break down stereotypes, and effectively promote “radical inclusivity” for all.
