Simon Porte Jacquemus has never been one for convention, neither in fashion nor in retail. With the opening of his Los Angeles boutique, he transplants the soul of Provence to West Hollywood, crafting an immersive experience that feels less like a store and more like stepping into his meticulously curated mind.
Located at 8800 Melrose Avenue, the space is an ode to rustic elegance, where terracotta herringbone floors meet limestone clay walls with olive trees decorating the outside, and a 10-meter yellow linen sofa—custom-made by Luther Quintana, anchors the room like a sunlit horizon. It’s intimate yet expansive, a reflection of Jacquemus’ own Paris office, where creativity feels both personal and boundless.

The design is a masterclass in eclectic reverence: a Jean Royère chaise lounges beside a Brutalist Spanish stool; a Frank Lloyd Wright lamp casts shadows over mid-century candelabras. A David Hockney photograph whispers L.A. nostalgia, while a Pierre-Auguste Renoir bronze bather nods to timeless French artistry. This isn’t just merchandising, it’s a dialogue between eras, continents, and disciplines.
To inaugurate the space, Jacquemus hosted a pop-up market with whimsical tickets for “Yellow Flower Bouquet” and “Fresh Banana Ice Cream”—playful, irreverent, quintessentially Simon. Some even included vouchers for his cult pieces, like the Rond Carré clutch or the newly debuted La Bateau Timberlands.

But perhaps the most intriguing offering is LA GALERIE, a collection of vintage jewelry and objets d’art handpicked by Simon himself. Spanning the 1920s to 1960s, these sculptural pieces, devoid of precious stones, prioritize craftsmanship over ostentation, a quiet rebellion in an era of excess.

Jacquemus’ L.A. outpost isn’t merely a store, it’s a manifesto. A reminder that fashion, at its best, is a living archive of personal obsession, where every detail tells a story. And in a city built on reinvention, this Provençal daydream feels right at home.
The Jacquemus Los Angeles Boutique is now open at 8800 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood.
